Research interests
John Takamura is the Assistant Director of Research and Associate Professor of Industrial Design in The Design School at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. John develops corporate sponsored university research, industrial design, and branding programs within various consumer product and service industries. John also serves as Director of Design for GlobalResolve™, a social entrepreneurship program at the Fulton School of Engineering where he is responsible for ethnographic research and design for the BoP (Base of the Pyramid) market. He serves as Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Design (MSD) degree in The design School. He is also a Senior Sustainability Scientist at the ASU Global Institute for Sustainability.
