Full Design and Implementation Phase II Proposal - Medical Nutrition Education Initiative for Healthcare Providers Full Design and Implementation Phase II Proposal: Medical Nutrition Education Initiative for Healthcare Providers- Arizona State University College of Health Solutions This Initiative was conceptualized as an array of offerings that would attract students across the continuum of medical education and active practitioners, including medical doctors, doctors of osteopathic medicine, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, and other health care/health promotion professionals. The Initiative is designed for phased implementation, ensuring the quality and fiscal soundness of the offerings. The three major components include a new ASU degree (M.S. in Medical Nutrition) for on-ground and ASU Online students (those awaiting acceptance into a medical or professional school, current medical/professional students, residents, and other interested parties) ; a series of graduate and non-credit Certificates in Medical Nutrition (online and on-ground formats) for practitioners, residents, medical students, and other interested parties; and a series of short, intensive Medical Nutrition Modules and Workshops (online and on-ground) for practitioners, residents, medical/professional students, and other interested parties. It is important to note that the individual courses and modules designed for any one of the three components will be easily leveraged to support the other two components. Examples of these interrelationships will be provided within this document.
