Abstract

Positive coparenting relationships are necessary to realize the goals of enhancing nonresident fathers’ long-term relationships with their children, increasing the financial support they provide, and improving child well-being. While many programs attempt to improve coparenting relationships using father-only interventions, information on their effectiveness is mixed. In order to complete a sufficient number of cohorts of the intervention, the eight-session program was condensed into six sessions conducted over six consecutive weeks, with each session two hours in length. The coparenting research study attempted to answer research questions using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The site-specific coordinator made multiple attempts to contact mothers via phone calls and text messages. Demographic characteristics are based on the sample of mothers who completed the pretest survey and attended at least one intervention session.
