Abstract

Hepatitis broadly refers to inflammation in the liver. This inflammation can be acute and progress to chronic in nature. Specific etiologies of hepatitis have different risk factors and distributions across geographic region, age, and sex. The etiologies that will be discussed include viral, alcoholic, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, drug-induced, autoimmune, and metabolic genetic conditions.
