Abstract

Anomalous effects on elongational flows at high rates of elongation reported by Ferguson et al. [1] are here treated as a change of type. Analysis predicts that the vorticity near the drum is hyperbolic, elliptic away from the drum, under the supercritical conditions in the experiment when the shearwave speeds have the values which we measured with our wave-speed meter.
