N2 - Sinusoidal impedance modulation is performed along the axis and the circumference of cylindrical leaky wave antennas (LWAs). The radiation characteristics of the axially modulated cylindrical metasurfaces are compared to those of the circumferentially modulated ones. The reduction in the peak gain and the increase in the half power beamwidth, of the radiated fan beam with respect to the curvature, are observed to be more significant for the case of circumferentially modulated cylindrical LWAs.
