Abstract

This article reviews the material culture of Aztec ritual and religion under four headings: temples and offerings, key deities, cult objects, and ceremonies. Because there is a massive literature of primary and secondary historical sources on Aztec religion, it concentrates primarily on archaeological materials; apart from the Templo Mayor, these remain poorly known today.
