Controlled in vitro environment for stage II micropropagation of chrysanthemum

Abstract

Optimal levels of light, sucrose and carbon dioxide for Stage II micropropagation of chrysanthemum were determined. Three levels each of light, of sucrose and of force-ventilated carbon dioxide were used for a 3x3x4 factorial experiment of the same culture. A fourth level of carbon dioxide constituted a control. The results showed that a significant increase in dry weight was effected by force-ventilated carbon dioxide and middle light level when sucrose was reduced from highest to middle level. The factor levels providing greatest growth of the culture were measured.
