Abstract

The aspect of damage development in laminated composites is considered. The recent work of the author is generalized and extended. The theory is developed in the rate form of the governing equations and the properties of the theory are analyzed and discussed. Chapter 3 focuses on the subject of edge delamination which is of importance in the analysis of laminated composites. The concept of effective free edge damage distribution area is proposed and verified by numerical examples.
