Abstract

Power flow studies in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems have distinctive characteristics, including high-speed requirements and availability of some system states and parameters. The author focus on the augmentation of the system equations with redundant equations and measurements in order to take advantage of all available information. Decoupled power flow techniques are used. The advantages of the procedure include speed (under some conditions), identification of bad data, low memory requirements, and additional insight into the load flow problem.
