note = "Funding Information: At ASU, our early start program involved six days and over 40 h of programming. Programming included content provided by university partners such as how to get a job on campus, get involved on campus, and how to navigate online advising tools. Students made important connections with key personnel in financial aid, tutoring centers, the disability resource center, first-year success, counseling, and the health center, to name a few. External partners also provided important content about cultivating resilience, the importance of interdependence, and how to use the statewide medical insurance program to access health and mental health services. Most important was the sense of community that emerged across the Bridging Success students during this week. An evaluation of the early start program will be reported (Authors, in progress), but preliminary data lend support to the idea that early start programming is of benefit. At ASU, our early start program was funded by a grant by Women in Philanthropy and laptops were donated for all students by Insight.com , further highlighting the value of fundraising from the private and corporate sectors.",
