Abstract
The peculiar velocities due to multiple cosmic string impulses is found to have a normal distribution whose mean and standard deviation can be written in terms of the string network evolution parameters. It appears that the observed peculiar velocities may be accounted for in the scenario although there may be a problem with the scaling of peculiar velocities with the size of the region. Some uncertainties in the predictions are discussed.
