Dyadic Analysis

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Chapter

Abstract

Dyadic analysis refers to statistical methods used to analyze data that have a dyadic design, which is when responses from both members of dyads are collected. Although dyadic data analyses could pose some challenges, such as violation of the independence assumption, many of the phenomena studied by researchers with the adult and aging population is dyadic in nature. Dyadic data allow researchers to move beyond intrapersonal processes to examine interpersonal processes. This entry will describe some of the challenges as well as rewards of dyadic data analysis and review some of the statistical methods that are used in empirical research.
