Abstract
The current chapter provides a brief literature review of the field of eating disorders among minority populations, including Black, Latinx, and Asian Americans, males, and sexual minorities. For each group, prevalence rates and clinical presentation of symptoms are reviewed. The unique expression of common risk factors among minority populations and unique risk factors to each population are discussed. Finally, cultural adaptations to treatment for each minority group are summarized. Relative to White populations, the empirical literature on minority populations with eating disorders is in its infancy. Future directions to move the field forward are discussed.
