Abstract

The development of community infrastructure for introducing IPM programs allows pest management activities to be targeted at the multi-farm level. This level of management may be particularly appropriate for a mobile pest such as sweetpotato whitefly. A community IPM program for managing Bemisia (Hemiptera: Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) in cotton was initiated in the Laveen-Tolleson community of C Arizona. This program was delivered in three interacting components, education, validation and implementation.
