Experiences in creating an OSCAR package for mpiBLAST

Abstract

Allowing computationally expensive database queries to be performed in parallel, mpiBLAST is an increasingly popular software tool for researchers in biology and bioinformatics. After struggling though a manual installation of mpiBIAST on an OSCAR cluster, our group wanted to simplify the task. This paper describes the process of creating the mpiBLAST OSCAR package.
