Abstract
This chapter delves into the intersections of Shakespeare, heightened text, and Latinidad. Espinosa and Santos DeCure share recent experiences of working with Latinx actors and different forms of heightened text at their respective universities, Arizona State University and the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. Their practice-based research examines linguistic diversity and skills for bilingual actors through “tradaptation” and “translanguaging” and advocates for cultural specificity and language embodiment of Shakespeare’s text with Latinx actors.
