Abstract
Nurse educators may be asked to provide feedback on writing, encountering the challenge of determining which errors to address, when, and how. This Teaching Tips article, drawing on the author’s experience in writing instruction, summarizes a novel framework for error triage: the five canons of classical rhetoric as described by the Roman rhetorician Quintilian.
