Abstract
Old Dominion University’s (ODU) Department of English has Professional and/or Technical Writing programs or emphases at all degree levels: Bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD. With this many technical and professional writing programs and emphases, most offered in technologically mediated distance-learning environments, we are implicitly making a promise to provide students, depending on their degree requirements, the opportunity to take various technical or professional writing courses at different levels of complexity or depth (i.e., junior, senior, or graduate courses).
