Abstract
Evaluation of parameters of immunologic responsiveness in six pediatric patients with recurrent sino pulmonary infections and dyscrasias of immunoglobulin production, particularly of IgA, disclosed the presence of antibodies to IgA, cow's milk, bovidae proteins and to tissue antigens, e.g., nuclei. These antibodies may have clinical significance as indicators of those individuals susceptible to diseases whose etiology may be considered in part to be of an auto immune nature, e.g., celiac disease. They may also be of clinical significance due to their possible in vivo interaction with common or cross reacting antigens present in administered or transfused blood products.
