Abstract
The increased utilization of various types of immunotherapy in patients with malignant neoplasms as an attempt to augment their host resistance dictates that adequate evaluation of each individual patient's immunologic status prior to, during, and following therapy is crucial and an integral part of such treatment. Following immunologic evaluation, the patient's immunologic status may be assessed and staged immunologically. Immunologic assessment and what the authors refer to as 'immunostaging' have, to date, reflected the clinical progress of their patients.
