title = "Introduction to Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), Critical Discourse Studies (CDS), and Beyond",
abstract = "This chapter introduces the volume, and defines Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA)/Critical Discourse Studies (CDS) and its aims, along with a brief explanation of our use of the acronym CDA/CDS in the book. In addition, it provides three recent examples of different types of studies published in major journals that accept work in CDA or CDS. These articles illustrate in detail what a CDA/CDS study might look like, in order to provide readers with some idea of the types of scholarship that could be considered under this umbrella and of some issues and topics that have been addressed. Finally, we describe the contents of each chapter as well as how they fit together.",
