note = "Funding Information: SCCM. However, critical care phar macists performing clinical research continue to face obstacles such as the lack of funding opportunities specific to critical care. For example, of the 27 institutes and centers constituting the National Institutes of Health (NIH), none has a focus on critical care medicine.21 SCCM is one of the few organizations that has funding specific to critical care medicine topics that is available to pharmacist researchers. An additional concern is the lack of critical care research-training programs, which produce future clinical researchers. While fellowship programs come into and fall out of existence based on funding, a search of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) directory of fellowships revealed that as of March 2020, there were no programs in the United States with a primary specialty listing of critical care.22 There was one program with a primary listing of outcomes research and a secondary listing of critical care. Of note, the ACCP Foundation offers research training through its FIT and MeRIT programs, as well as funding opportunities through its Futures Grants.",
