Abstract
One of the most persistent questions in contemporary literary and cultural studies is related to the validity of the knowledge revealed through literature. To help answer these questions, this study analyzes the novel El lago en las pupilas by Luis Goytisolo. The connections with Jorge Luis Borges and Byung-Chul's ideas widen the frame to analyze the difficulty of knowing and allow to illuminate the hermetic and cohesive world of the novel.
