Abstract
This entry provides a brief overview of leadership research by contrasting other disciplinary perspectives with a discursive perspective of leadership (i.e., leadership that is co-constructed among leaders and followers through communication). Through this lens, the entry then discusses how biomedical and biopsychosocial discourses of practice within healthcare affect leadership practice. Additionally, the entry details leadership research in healthcare organizations, multinational interorganizational health collaborations, and stakeholder-led public health interventions. Recommendations for future research about leadership in healthcare contexts are discussed.
