Abstract
Interview with Peter Murrieta, actor and seasoned improv artist-turned two-time Emmy award-winning writer and producer. Espinosa and Murrieta discuss his 20-year history of casting Latinx actors for network television, the challenges of being at the forefront of what many hoped would be the Latino wave, the lack of mobility for Latinx actors, the dynamics of casting, the resilience required when working for change. The interview offers techniques for combating ignorance and negativity for today’s identity-conscious actors, producers, writers, and audiences.
