On the response of unbounded media to moving oscillatory forces

Abstract

The response of a linear elastic medium to a time-varying moving force is expressed in terms of the displacement field corresponding to a stationary loading. In the case of a harmonic time dependency of the force, a simple relation between the moving and stationary steady state displacement fields is derived.
