Abstract

A tamper-proof, smartcard architecture with embedded cryptographic capabilities to provide a user with abilities to perform secure financial transactions either over the web or at a point of sale without disclosure of ANY private information making it completely resistant to identity theft and other forms of fraud. Many different credit cards and bank accounts can be consolidated on the card and the card is protected from theft by a PIN. The card overcomes the security flaws of DoD Common Access Card (CAC) i.e. the card is not prone to PIN stealing and virus generated spurious transaction validation. Theses attacks make the DoD CAC unsuitable for widespread use.
