Abstract

tropical moist forest ecosystems. Surprisingly, there are relatively few studies addressing patterns of functional trait diversity in tropical dry forests (TDFs) or other extensive water-limited ecosystems (Chaturvedi et al. 2011). Thus, our understanding of the underlying drivers of plant trait variation and community assembly in TDFs is unclear.
