Abstract

The production rates of 14C from proton spallation of silicon and oxygen have been measured over a wide range of energies from 31 to 450 MeV. 14C was measured by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) after extraction of carbon from the samples by melting in a flow of oxygen.
