Abstract
Findings of a survey of 1,200 physicians suggest that healthcare organizations that provide physicians with pricing information can reduce resource utilization and control costs more effectively than organizations that do not provide such information. These findings also suggests that healthcare financial managers who are aware of physicians' responses to costs information-and who furnish them with effective cost information-many gain a timely competitive advantage.
