Abstract
Septic thrombosis of the portal vein (STPV) is a rare complication of intra-abdominal infection. We report a case of successful percutaneous drainage in a patient with an infected portal venous clot who failed to respond to antibiotic therapy alone. To our knowledge, there has been only one previous report of an attempted percutaneous drainage in STPV.
