title = "Test-particle numerical simulations of energetic particles near the termination shock",
abstract = "We present the results of recent non-diffusive test-particle numerical simulations of energetic-particle transport near the solar-wind termination shock. Here we focus on a distinct aspect of this problem: variations (spatial and temporal) in the intensities and anisotropies of low-energy protons (50 keV). Our simulations indicate that 50keV proton intensities are highly variable upstream of the shock with large anisotropies that are directed primarily away from the shock, whereas downstream of the shock, the intensity variations have a much smaller amplitude and the anisotropies are smaller. Our results are qualitatively consistent with recent Voyager 1 observations.",
