Abstract

The optics of semiconductor diode lasers was studied. The basic features of the beam of light emitted by a diode laser were also discussed and methods to analyze and manipulate this beam were also investigated. A semiconductor diode laser consists of a gain layer, surrounded by guiding layers for confining the laser mode.
