Abstract

Using a newly designed low density parity check (LDPC) code, we demonstrate ultra-long-haul transmission of a 1.031-Tb/s superchannel over 12,160-km standard single mode fiber, consisting of 152 Raman-amplified 80-km spans, at a spectral efficiency of 3.76 b/s/Hz.
