N2 - Improving Melon Cultivation & Production Practices. National and international food and health organizations recommend a high daily intake of fruits and vegetables. This work showcases recent trends in genomics techniques and different agronomic practices to improve the sensory and consumer acceptance qualities of fruits and vegetables, especially melons. The authors highlight melon cultivation and production practices, food safety management, and challenges specific to the US melon industry. They also demonstrate applications of nanotechnology for sustainable agriculture and additional opportunities with underutilized melon species. Researchers focused on flavor, food safety, and nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables will find this volume useful.
